Frequently asked questions
- 01At The Felted Heirloom, your custom portrait is meticulously created based on the photos you provide. The closer your reference photo aligns with the ideal guidelines, the more accurately your pet’s likeness will be captured in your portrait. The quality and angle of the photo, as well as the lighting, play a crucial role in achieving the best results. **If suitable reference photos aren’t available, I may need to cancel your order. Useful Photos: • Taken straight on or as a side profile • Well-lit, with visible eyes and clear details • A calm and relaxed expression, with tongue either in or out • Sending multiple photos is highly encouraged! This allows me to capture the true colors and unique features of your pet. Ineffective Photos: • Taken from above or below the pet • Poor lighting (too dark or overexposed) • Edited with filters • Photos of a printed photo • Your pet lying down Feel free to reach out if you’d like me to review your reference photos before placing your order!

The name(s) to be stitched on the bottom of your art piece. (Optional) These portraits are made as a copy of your photo provided. Please note the quality of photo and placement of your pet in the photo. If the photos being sent are not useable a refund may be issued. Check out my FAQ page to help you pick the perfect photos.
- 03Orders are typically completed and shipped within 3-4 weeks after completion. This also depends on when I've received your photos and all necessary information. However, because each piece is handcrafted, there may occasionally be delays. Thank you for your patience and understanding! If you have questions about your order status, feel free to reach out to me at thefeltedheirloom@gmail.com.

- 05Yes! When I send them off they are all ironed and nicely applied to the sticky backing with no bubbles. During the shipping process or over time you may notice the fabric lifts from the backing close to the felted part. This is no worries at all. Simply push/smooth the fabric back down. The fabric is applied to a sticky board and sometimes near the felted area it just needs a few extra little pushes to stick back.
- 06As a creator of personalized art, I use my artistic interpretation and attention to detail to bring your vision to life. Because of the highly customized nature of these peices, I am unable to make any adjustments once the artwork is complete. Rest assured, each piece is made with care and dedication to ensure you're happy with the final result.

- 08These art peices are delicate and require gentle handling. Avoid washing them. If cleaning is necessary, lightly use a lint roller to remove dust, taking care not to roll directly over the wool artwork. For spot cleaning, use minimal pressure. A compressed air duster can also help remove surface debris - just be sure to use it at a safe distance to protect the peice from damage. I also provide a card with instructions on how to take care of the portrait with your order.
